"I never told my ambitions and efforts and failures to anyone. I listened unmoved to the sneers and ridicule of various relatives who thought my scribbling rank folly and waste of time. That never disturbed me at all. Down, deep down, under all discouragement and rebuff I knew I would arrive someday." - Lucy Maud Montgomery

Queen - Keep Yourself Alive (1981)

This is a great live version of one of my favorite Queen songs. I think the song was released in 1973, but don't quote me on that. It's 2am.

I don't need to explain how perfect each member is in this version, but there's always something so special about John Deacon. He is so quiet and understated, wearing simply a t-shirt and jeans. And this massive bass sound that comes from this seemingly shy man. I find his simplicity very sexy. (You can see him in his own little world at around 2:30 - 2:40. While Freddie is sexying it up & humping the microphone, and Brian is shredding that guitar, John is just standing there thinking "I've clocked in. I'm doing my job. The weather's nice tonight. I think I'll have tea, later...")
