"I never told my ambitions and efforts and failures to anyone. I listened unmoved to the sneers and ridicule of various relatives who thought my scribbling rank folly and waste of time. That never disturbed me at all. Down, deep down, under all discouragement and rebuff I knew I would arrive someday." - Lucy Maud Montgomery

93-year old Mary Ellis flies a Spitfire

Found this gem on YouTube. The original video is from 2010 when she was 93. You can also read a recent article published just this past March 10 about Mary Ellis, now 98 years old, who is still active and flying her precious Spitfire. Here's a link:

Mary Ellis was a Spitfire pilot in WW2. At 98, she still flies

I'll write a lot more on this, but it is 2am and I have to go to sleep!

Glenda Collins - Been Invited to a Party (1965)

Great song. Only video I could find, though. =/

Unless you're really into scooters, then it's totally fine.

Yes, Mrs. Patmore! Coming, Mrs. Patmore!

Downton Abbey : The Complete Scripts: Season 1

I want this. Badly. All the scripts from season one plus notes from the author.

"Ironing newspapers is a cliché in a way because everyone knows it was done; but on the other hand a lot of people still think they were ironed to make them flat, as opposed to being ironed so that the ink would dry. It is sometimes quite fun to correct these common misapprehensions"

Reading this, I mean really, you can feel your brain getting bigger.

Also, I would like to write a spec script for kicks.

Altered Images - Love To Stay (1983)

Altered Images had so many beautiful songs. I'm in love with pretty much anything they did. ("I Could Be Happy", "See Those Eyes", "Pinky Blue", "Don't Talk to Me About Love", just to mention a few....)

Family Fodder - Savoir Faire (1980)

The Monochrome Set - Eine Symphonie Des Grauens (1979)

This song is absolutely perfect. Just discovered it. And in such a random way, too.

Queen - Keep Yourself Alive (1981)

This is a great live version of one of my favorite Queen songs. I think the song was released in 1973, but don't quote me on that. It's 2am.

I don't need to explain how perfect each member is in this version, but there's always something so special about John Deacon. He is so quiet and understated, wearing simply a t-shirt and jeans. And this massive bass sound that comes from this seemingly shy man. I find his simplicity very sexy. (You can see him in his own little world at around 2:30 - 2:40. While Freddie is sexying it up & humping the microphone, and Brian is shredding that guitar, John is just standing there thinking "I've clocked in. I'm doing my job. The weather's nice tonight. I think I'll have tea, later...")

Modettes - White Mice (1979)

Don't be stupid, don't be limp. No girl likes to love a wimp...

I'm a sucker for great bass lines and this song has a really great one. Plus, the video is pretty kickass in all its VHS/blue screen glory.

Franz Ferdinand - The Fallen (2006)

What's wrong with a little destruction?

And if the fires burn out...

My favorite Duran Duran song. I want to be in this crowd so badly. I dream of one day being surprised with tickets to see an intimate DD show like this.

Marina & the Diamonds - Shampain (2010)

This Song = There's Hope For The Future.
